OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES:

The unit is as old as the hospital founded in 1988. it renders both elective and emergency surgeries ranging from general surgery, urological surgery, Neurosurgery, Ent surgery, Paediatric surgery, Plastic surgery and Reconstructive surgery, Mailla facial surgery, Orthopedic surgery using high quality and state of the art equipment.

OUTPATIENT CLINIC:

A call-duty service is available; this is the reason for 24hrs of services provided.

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES AND SCHEDULE:
General Surgery - 8:00am - 4:00pm
(Tuesday) - (8am-4pm)
(Thurday) - (1pm-4pm)
Work Hours - Covered by a Surgeon

ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY - 12:00pm-4:00pm
(Every Wednesday) Covered (by CONSULTANTS)
NEUROSURGERY - 12:00PM-4:00pm
(Every Friday by Consultants).
Burns and Plastic - 12:00PM-4:00pm
(Every Tuedsay by Consultants).
UROLOGY Covered by the consultants only
Time - 2:00pm -4:00pm (Every Thursday)

CALL HOURS - This is dependent on the nature of the emergency (Saturdays/Sunday/public holidays)

QUALITY ASSURANCE POLICY:

ASHE Patient Ward department has in place a set of processed to ensure quality services are delivered consistently and also support the hospital in a cycle of continuous improvement of our patient care.

  •  To ensure daily review of all surgical inpatient
  •  To ensure proper documentation of patient clinical progress.
  •  To ensure proper wound healing using aseptic techniques in all wound dressing.

WARD ROUNDS

All inpatient are reviewed daily by registrar and a consultant round once weekly and twice weekly for general surgery..

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY:

All radiation doses to patients are kept as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA Principle)
Ensuring no radiation dose exceeds the appropriate dose limit for an individual.
Ensuring regular calibration and maintenance of all radiology equipment

SPECIAL (CONTRAST/BARIUM STUDIES)

Patient booked for Hysterosalpigography are advised to apply the ten day rules to exclude STAFF- We maintain Annunciation Specialist Hospital safety & health guidelines.
