Diagnostic imaging services

OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES:

Radiological examination and procedures are performed based on scheduled appointment, according to priority and on emergency basis. Patient visitation is based on ASHE guideline for such servicers care.

CALL - DUTY SERVICES:

A call-duty service is available; this is the reason for 24hrs of services provided.

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES AND SCHEDULE:
Hours of imaging/Reporting - 8:00am - 4:00pm
(Conventional days) - (Mon-Friday)
Work Hours - Covered by a Radiographer

ULTRASOUND WORK HOUR - 8:00am-4:00pm
(Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday & Fridays) Covered (by CONSULTANTS)
RADIOLOGY/CONTRAST/BARIUM STUDIES - 8:00am-4:00pm
Depending on the patients arrival to the department covered by both doctors (consultants & Radiographer).
FILM/SPECIALS Covered by the consultants only
Reporting - 8:00am -4:00pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)

CALL HOURS - This is dependent on the nature of the emergency (Saturdays/Sunday/public holidays)

ASHE Radiology department has in place a set of processed to ensure quality services are delivered consistently and also support the hospital in a cycle of continuous improvement of our patient care.

  •  Monitoring and acting on feedbacks from referring physicians and our patients.

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY:

All radiation doses to patients are kept as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA Principle)
Ensuring no radiation dose exceeds the appropriate dose limit for an individual.
Ensuring regular calibration and maintenance of all radiology equipment

SPECIAL (CONTRAST/BARIUM STUDIES)

Patient booked for Hysterosalpigography are advised to apple the ten day rules to exclude STAFF- We maintain Annunciation Specialist Hospital safety & health guidelines.

POLICY ON MINIMUM STANDARD
1. Wile adhering to minimum stand and of Annunciation Specialist Hospital, we don’t exceed rational dose limit of 1ion sing radiation.
2. Issuance of result is in line with the departmental turnaround time (TAT)
3. Critical findings are conveyed to the physician as soon as identified.
4. All our Radiographers and R radiologists are fully licensed to practice
5. Indemnity insurance for all staff.
